We are pleased to announce the Second ENSEC Conference, which will take place in
Izmir, Turkey on the 9th -12th September, 2009, organized by ENSEC the European
Network for Social and Emotional Competence in collaboration with Bogazici
University, the Department of Primary Education.

The theme of the 2009 conference Promoting Social-Emotional Education:
Practitioners and Researchers Exploring Evidence Based Practice provides a
focus for dissemination of research in this field and discussion of the
implications of evidence-based research for practitioners, policy-makers and
researchers alike. There are four key conference sub-themes:

- Policy and provision: developing national strategies
- Early intervention: building social and emotional competence
- Succesful strategies: building effectiveness through personal and professional
development.
- Emancipatory research and practice: children and young persons as partners in
research and practice

The official language of the conference is English.
